#SelfDevelopment: Don’t compare your chapter 1 to some else’s chapter 20

“Don’t compare your chapter 1 to some else’s chapter 20” Evan Carmichael

I’m not a yoga trainer, expert, intermediate, or even a novice, but I love it.

I’ve taken classes here and there, so I know a few of the basics. But I never fell deeply in love with the practice. However, since creating my own flow with movements I enjoy, I have come to rely on this time to focus on myself, slow down, and boost my health.

For six weeks I’ve been practising Yoga and meditation every morning. Sometimes I get to complete a whole routine and sometimes I can only get five minutes done before motherhood duties call. But the point is I am moving my body and enjoying it!

I started with just 5 minutes but now I’m dragging myself out of bed at 5.30am to try and complete 30 minutes before the house wakes up.

Don’t be hesitant to try something new or do something in your own way. By trying to be like someone who has dedicated their life to their art you are just going to feel stressed and deflated. Just be safe and do what makes you feel good.

Pilates is my me time , not quite flexible enough for yoga (i did give it a go) but agree it is great to have some time to feel good, i am so pleased you are managing to squeeze in some time although 5.30 sounds painful. I am trying to hit 60 a bit fitter if not slimmer.

I really like the message in this post.. but I struggle with it so much. The beckon of comparison calls often and fast. And love the video touch! Cute! Now to get that sofa buddy doing it with you…
